Access to the Full Week Experience
Because the Eisteddfod runs for a full week, staying locally means you’re not just a day-visitor - you can immerse yourself. Visit day by day, drop in on different competitions, enjoy both major events and smaller community sessions.
Discover the Surroundings
North Pembrokeshire is beautiful: coastlines, hills, rural communities, heritage sites. Staying with us means you can combine Eisteddfod time with exploring the local area - perhaps before the crowds arrive in the morning, or after events finish. That adds value beyond just the Eisteddfod.
Flexibility and Comfort
All our holiday cottages and self catering accommodation properties are in wonderful locations, all are of a really high standard, offer excellent facilities, luxurious comfort, and lots even offer panoramic sea views. You’re sure to have greater comfort than typical event lodgings. You’ll likely get better rest, good food locally, and the option to step away when you need calm.
Making the Most of Local Culture
Because you’ll be staying in the heart of the y Garreg Las, you’ll be able to engage with the local community - local pubs, cafés, markets, people with authentic stories. It gives a deeper flavour than staying somewhere generic or outside the region. Especially for an event so grounded in local language and tradition.
Eisteddfod 2026 y Garreg Las North Pembrokeshire
The 2026 Eisteddfod Garreg Las will be held from 1st to the 8th August 2026 in the Llantwd (Llantood) area of north Pembrokeshire. Y Garreg Las area reflects the region’s rich local heritage and will celebrate the 850th anniversary of the first Eisteddfod, originally held at Cardigan Castle in 1176.
What to Expect
A full week of competitions, performances, cultural exhibitions, and community events: literature, poetry, music, drama, folk dance, choirs, visual arts.
A special community-choir project themed around the influential Welsh rock band Ail Symudiad, bringing together local voices in a large-scale performance at the Pavilion stage.
The traditional ceremonial events of the festival, including the Gorsedd (the gathering of bards) ceremonies and the important “Proclamation” ceremony which has already been held in advance in Narberth to mark the countdown.
The festival is designed to include and celebrate the Welsh language and culture, while offering welcoming spaces for visitors.
Why It’s Special
Hosting in Pembrokeshire is significant: the festival hasn’t been in the county since 2002.
The fact that the host area spans three counties (Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion & Carmarthenshire) offers a richer regional flavour, combining coast, rural hills, language communities and local traditions.
A chance to witness a living cultural institution: the Eisteddfod is the largest cultural festival in Europe devoted to a language and its arts.
