Y Cartws - Wonderful Dog Friendly Farm Holiday Cottage in Cardigan

Patio area with tables, chairs and umbrella - Y Cartws Llantood Cardigan

Y Cartws, Cardigan, Pembrokeshire - Cosy countryside farm holiday cottage

Nestled within the picturesque landscape of Llantood Farm, spanning 200 acres of pristine countryside just a stone's throw away from Cardigan and the captivating coastline, Y Cartws stands as a testament to timeless charm and modern luxury. This meticulously restored 18th-century farmhouse, proudly displaying the inscription "1752" etched into a stone above its entrance, was once the beating heart of the farm, serving as a vital cart house during the 19th century.

Today, Y Cartws offers a unique working farm holiday cottage experience, inviting guests to indulge in a quiet escape amidst the untouched beauty of north Pembrokeshire. Updated in 2007, the cottage seamlessly blends original stonework with contemporary comforts, creating an ambiance that is both rustic and inviting.

The ground floor welcomes visitors with an inviting open-plan layout, where a crackling woodburning stove takes centre stage in the cosy sitting area, complemented by warm wooden flooring. The fully-equipped kitchen area, complete with modern conveniences such as a dishwasher and washing machine, has French doors that lead outside, offering seamless indoor-outdoor living.

Sleeping up to four guests, Y Cartws features two bedrooms, one furnished with a luxurious king-size bed and the other with two inviting single beds. While all bed linen is provided, guests are kindly asked to bring their own towels. The bathroom is on the first floor and features a bath with a shower.

For those seeking serenity away from the hustle and bustle of contemporary life, Y Cartws promises an idyllic retreat. Surrounded by open fields yet not secluded, guests can revel in the peaceful ambiance while remaining connected to the charm of rural life.

The cottage enjoys its own secluded area of the farm, boasting a private garden with patio furniture. Securely fenced, the garden offers a safe haven for children to play and explore.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the wonders of Llantood Farm, from observing the daily routines of the resident animals to leisurely strolls through the fields, each step revealing the abundant wildlife that thrives in the area.

Venturing into the 30 acres of woodland, guests are invited to immerse themselves in a world teeming with life, where foxes, rabbits, squirrels, buzzards, and wood pigeons create a harmonious tapestry of nature. And no visit would be complete without encountering Jacob, the friendly donkey, always eager to meet new people, especially those bearing a spare carrot or two.
