Getting to Ceibwr Beach
Ready to discover the natural beauty of Ceibwr Beach? Whether you're coming from Newport (South) or Cardigan & St Dogmaels (North), your journey begins by heading towards Moylgrove. Depending on your starting point, navigate your way towards the turn adjacent to Bethel church. Follow this narrow road, and it will guide you directly to the coastline of Ceibwr. Just before you reach the coast you'll find limited roadside parking. If there’s no space or if you don’t want to chance finding parking down the front, then there is a small car park in Moylgrove next to the public toilets, from here it is about a 1 mile walk.
Once parked, make your way towards the beach, descending gently into the valley below. Here, you'll stumble upon a serene grassy mound where there are benches, offering an idyllic spot to pause and soak in the coastal surroundings. Follow signs for the beach and at the bottom you will come to a small stream with a quaint bridge, cross over the bridge and onto the beach. From the beach you can access the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which stretches northward onto Poppit Sands. Alternatively, you can head south along the coast path to Newport and along the way enjoy some of the most spectacular cliff tops and the very interesting ‘Witches Cauldron’, a collapsed cave.
If you prefer to journey by bus, hop aboard the Poppit Rocket, a seasonal dog-friendly bus service that conveniently delivers you right to the doorstep of Ceibwr Beach.
Parking & Facilities at Ceibwr
Ceibwr is a very natural place with minimal man-made interference, therefor parking and facilities are very limited. There is a small amount of roadside parking in wide areas of the raod and a couple of small lay-bys. If there’s no space or if you don’t want to chance finding parking down the front, then there is a small car park in Moylgrove next to the public toilets, from here it is about a 1 mile walk. These are also the nearest toilets to the beach.
Beach Environment & Safety
Ceibwr beach is a wonderful pebble and shingle cove that’s very sheltered, nestled at the bottom of a valley. A stream runs down one side and the crossing of a small foot bridge is required to access the beach. It generally provides a lovely sheltered area to swim and play. However, there are no lifeguards here so please check the tides, weather and beach safety guidelines before visiting.

Fun at the Beach
Ceibwr is popular with walkers, paddleboarders, kayakers and nature lovers. It’s also popular with campervan owners due to the lack of facilities making it a quieter spot to visit. A visit to the Witches Cauldron is a must but you must take care, most of the route is close to very high and steep cliff edges. And, on clear summer evenings, the sunsets here are beautiful.
Food & Drink at Ceibwr
There are no food or drink outlets here, however there are a few benches if you bring your own picnic. The nearest cafe is Penrallt Garden Centre, a 0.7 mile walk up the footpath from the back of Ceibwr beach.

Dog Friendly Beach
Dogs are allowed on the beach all year. There are a variety of walks on offer here, from walking on the road, along the cliff path or walking on the beach. Dogs love it here with grass to run on, a beach to enjoy, rocks to clamber, a stream to play in and the sea if they want a swim.
Pembrokeshire Coast Path
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path passes right across the back Ceibwr beach and leads on to Newport Sands in the South and Poppit Beach to the North.
Ceibwr Beach, like all beaches in Pembrokeshire during Summer, can get busy, and it can only accommodate small numbers due to the lack of parking. Early mornings, evenings or out of peak season maybe your best option if you want to visit.
